2/4/08 "Contentment"

This thought is from I Timothy 6:8. It was included as part of the morning sermon by Bro. Mark.

I Timothy 6:8 "But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that."

It is hard to distinguish between our needs and wants. Paul reminds us to be content with what we have. When we tithe, we are to give on our faith that God will supply our needs. Can you determine your actual needs compared to your wants? If you are living your life for God, He will supply all you could ever need. Besides, you can't take it with you when you go...

"I’d rather have Jesus than silver or gold;
I’d rather be His than have riches untold;
I’d rather have Jesus than houses or lands,
I’d rather be led by His nail pierced hand.
Than to be a king of a vast domain
Or be held in sin’s dread sway,
I’d rather have Jesus than anything
This world affords today."
