1/25/08 "Rest"

If you are like me, you can hardly believe it is Friday...again! It seems like just yesterday I was at home with 2 sick kids and as another week has flown by, the kids are up playing and bickering as usual!

Since it is the weekend, I was looking forward to a weekend of rest. Since I typically work on Sundays my weekend is Friday and Saturday. We have nowhere to go today or tomorrow and we are thankful.

Jesus even rested and our Creator showed an example of rest when He created our existence.

Here are some scriptural references of rest in the Bible:
Gen 2:2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.

Psalm 62:1 My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him.

Matt 11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Maybe you know of some more...but remember as you enjoy this weekend to leave time for rest so that you may never grow weary of serving the Lord.
